Accessibility

Built to be usable by everyone.

Last updated: 12 June 2026

We want marymia.co.uk to be usable by as many people as possible, whatever technology you browse with. This statement describes the standard we aim for, where we currently stand, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across this website, and we treat accessibility as part of engineering quality — not an afterthought.

What we have done

The site uses semantic HTML landmarks and heading structure, keyboard-reachable navigation including a mobile menu with proper ARIA states, alt text on meaningful imagery, visible focus indicators, and colour contrast checked against the dark theme.

Animations respect your operating system's "reduce motion" preference — with it enabled, decorative motion is switched off.

Known limitations

Some decorative, low-contrast label text may fall below AA contrast in places, and third-party content we embed in future may not meet our standard. We review the site against WCAG periodically and fix issues as we find them.

Report a barrier

If anything on this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, email hello@marymia.co.uk with "Accessibility" in the subject. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you use. We respond within two working days and prioritise fixes that block tasks.
